Categorize or highlight your notes and lists with colors. If you share a note, only you can see the color you’ve added.
On mobile devices
Color a single note:
To select a single note, tap it.
To add color to a single note, at the bottom, tap More and then tap a color. Tap Back to save the color and go back to the Notes page.
Color multiple notes:
To select multiple notes, touch and hold each note.
To add color to several notes, tap Style and then tap a color.
On the web
Choose an option:
To select a single note, click it.
To select several notes at once, at the top of each note, click Select .
Click Change color and then choose a color.
Organize your notes and lists with up to 50 labels, such as project names or team members. If you share a note, only you can see the label you’ve added.
On mobile devices
Create a label:
Tap Menu Create new label.
Enter a label name and tap Done .
Rename a label:
Tap Menu .
Next to Labels, tap Edit.
Tap Edit .
Enter the new label name and tap Done .
Delete a label:
Tap Menu .
Next to Labels, tap Edit.
Tap the label name and click Delete .
Tap Delete again to confirm.
Add or remove labels on a single note or list:
Tap a note.
Tap More Labels.
Tap the label’s box that you want to add or remove.
Tap Back to save the changes and go back to the Notes page.
Add or remove labels on several notes or lists at once:
Touch and hold each note.
Tap Add Label .
Tap the label’s box that you want to add or remove.
Tap Back to save the changes and go back to the Notes page.
Tip: In a note, you can also create or apply a label using a hashtag. To create a label, type #newlabel. To apply a label, type # and then select it.
Click Menu Edit labels.
Point to the label you want to delete, and click Delete .
Click Delete again to confirm.
Click Done.
Add or remove labels on a single note or list:
On a note, click More .
Choose an option:
To add labels, click Add label and check the label boxes.
To remove labels, click Change labels and uncheck the label boxes.
Add or remove labels on several notes or lists at once:
Click Menu Edit labels.
Next to the label you want to rename, click Edit .
Enter a new name and click Done.
Delete a label:
On the web
Create a label:
Click Menu Edit labels.
In the Create new label field, enter a label name and click Done.
Rename a label:
At the top of each note, click Select .
At the top, click More .
Choose an option:
To add labels, click Add label and check the label boxes.
To remove labels, click Change labels and uncheck the label boxes.
Tip: In a note, you can also create or apply a label using a hashtag. To create a label, type #newlabel. To apply a label, type # and then select it.
Keep track of important notes by pinning them to the top of your Keep page.
On mobile devices
At the top of a note, tap Pin .
On the web
Hover over the top-right corner of a note and click Pin .
Find notes and lists using the search box and filters, such as types, labels, colors, and more.
At the top, click or tap Search.
Enter search words or the label name that you’re looking for.
Note: (English only) To search for text in photos, such as images of receipts, enter the words that appear in the photo.
(Optional) To narrow your search, click or tap a filter. See filter descriptions below.
When results appear, click or tap a note to open it.
Print individual notes or lists in Keep by copying them to Google Docs.
On the web
Web only
In Keep, hover over the note that you want to print and click MoreCopy to Google Docs.
At the bottom, click Open Doc to open the Docs file.
(Optional) To print more than one note, repeat steps 1–2 and then copy the content from each doc into one Docs file.
In Google Docs, at the top, click FilePrint.
