(Example from MS outlook)
Step 1 : In the main menu, select Tools > Email Accounts
Step 2 : Click at "Add a new e-mail account" and then "Next"
Step 3 : Select “POP3” and then "Next"
Step 4 : Setting your display name in “Your name:” field.
Step 5 : Setting your email in “Email Address :” field.
Step 6 : For "Incoming mail server (POP3) use “pop.gmail.com” , then for “Outgoing mail server (SMTP):” use “smtp.gmail.com”
Step 7 : If you use a share computer, DO NOT enter your password, otherwise you may set your password and enable "Rember password" for auto login then click “More Settings…”
Step 8 : Change to "Advance" tab and check to enable This server requires a secure connection (SSL) then use number 995 for Incoming mail (POP3): and then enable checkbox at This server requires a secure connection (SSL) then type 465 for Outgoing Mail (SMTP):
Step 9 : Enable for “Leave a copy of messages on the server” to keep a copy on the server until you deleted them and then click “OK”
Step 10 : Click “Finish”
Step 11 : After that, a login dialog "Enter network Password" will be displayed, please enter your Username ( account@au.edu ) and then your Password and then click “OK” the mail client will start downloading your mails to your computer.
Warning
If you have any existing users setting in your mail client, DO NOT delete the user from mail client or all your mails will be gone. We advise you to add a new account instead of replacing the existing one.
The university DO NOT back up your mail anymore, so please be careful when you delete any mails. The deleted mails are moved to "Trash" for 3o days and then they will be purged permanently.
NOTE
If you found errors about password authentication, if you are students, please try to change your password from auspark system, if you are faculty members or staffs, please try to change password via home.au.edu. and then try to login again.
